Obituary of Eleanor M. DeSante
(nee McCloskey)
Eleanor passed away peacefully on Oct. 10, 2018. Age 83. Born in Burlington City, Eleanor was a lifelong resident of Riverside.
One of 14 children from the McCloskey clan, everyone that knew her would describe her as being feisty, funny and always one to speak her mind. She was employed for 10 years as a crossing guard in Riverside. The lucky children that were regularly crossed by Eleanor, received goodies from her at every holiday. And, every Tuesday night, Ellie could be found playing bingo with her bingo buddies.
Beloved wife of the late Fred G. Devoted mother of Donna Hernandez (Julio), Fred J. (Debbie) and Denise Bowen (Mark). Loving grandmother of Zachary Jago (Kate). Kambria Goldstein (Nicholas), Phillip Bowen (Elisabeth) and Victoria Bowen. Great grandmother of Eli, Dylan, Kiera, Lukis and Zac. Dear sister of Patricia Wichnoski (Bruno). Sister in law of Christine DeSante, Joseph Canduci, and Thomas DeSante. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing Tuesday morning from 9 am to 11 am at the Chadwick Memorial home, 154 Webster St., Riverside, NJ 08075. Service to follow at 11 am. Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Cinnaminson. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association in Eleanor’s name.
