Obituary of Carolyn C. McCloskey

(nee Hamlin)

Carolyn passed away on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018 at Samaritan Hospice, Mt. Holly. Age 74.

Born in Delanco, Carolyn was a lifelong resident. She was past president and long time member of the Ladies Auxiliary Washington Fire Co., #1, Delanco. Her reputation for cooking earned her the instagram hashtag of  #heavenforcoleslaw.

Carolyn is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Dorothy Hamlin, Step father Alfred Quigg, brother George Hamlin and infant brother. She was the beloved wife of the late Melvin "Toby" McCloskey Sr, her teenage sweetheart.

Surviving are her devoted children, Tammy Joyce (William), Melvin "Toby" McCloskey (Colleen nee Errickson), Richard McCloskey, Scott McCloskey (Gwen Winters) and Vincent Carrara (Stacy). Grandmother of 9, great grandmother of 4. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm at the Chadwick Memorial Home, 154 Webster St., Riverside. Funeral service 1:30 pm at Dobbins United Methodist Church, 330 Union Ave, Delanco, Interment Monument Cemetery, Beverly.
