Thomas J. Vathis, Sr. passed away peacefully Friday, September 25, 2020, at the age of 77. Born in Phila., PA, Thomas was a resident of Delran for the past 52 years. He was employed as a diesel mechanic for the Occupational Training Center until retiring a few years ago. Thomas was an avid card player, playing Friday and Saturday nights with his nephew Tony. He loved to tinker with cars, attend car shows and visit the casinos.
Beloved husband of 53 years to Ida (nee Bowker) Vathis. Devoted father of Donna Cunningham (Joe), Irene Barbara (Martin), Terri Vathis (Dan Starnes) and Thomas J. Vathis Jr. Loving grandfather of Joey, Lisa Marie, Kaitlyn, Megan, Bailey, Paige and Thomas J. III. Loving Brother of George Vathis (Judy) and the late Tony Purificato, Jimmy Vathis and John Vathis.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020 from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Chadwick Memorial Home, 154 Webster St., Riverside. Service to follow at 6 pm.
