Obituary of Matilda Reed

Matilda (Tillie) Reed passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on September 24, 2021 at Palm Gardens Nursing Home in Largo, Florida, at the age of 94.
She was predeceased by her loving parents Antoni and Mary Kalinowski, loving brothers Vincent and John, sisters Mary, Helen, Tessie, Genevieve and Felicia (Pip). Tillie as she was affectionately know by her family and friends was the last survivor of the Kalinowski family.
Tillie was born on March 18, 1927 in Riverside NJ. She spent her entire life in Riverside and Delran. Matilda met her loving husband Norman while sitting on the front stoop of her home, after he had driven by three times. She spent most of her married life in the home she shared with her beloved husband.Norman. They were married for 64 years prior to his passing in June 2012 and where they raised their two sons. Matilda was a lifetime member of Saint Casimir's church and was a devoted wife, loving mother, excellent cook, baker and homemaker. She made sure you never left her house without eating something or taking it home. Tillie enjoyed playing the lottery, trips to the casino and an occasional night of bingo.
Matilda is survived by her loving son Tom of Clearwater FL, where she spent the last three summers enjoying the Florida sunshine. She is also survived by her loving son Douglas (Patricia) of Southampton NJ where she lived for the past four years. She is survived by a granddaughter Pamela Casparro (Chris), a grandson Phillip Shaw (Mary) and was predeceased by a granddaughter Patricia Dalglish (Danny), great grandchildren Ronald (Danielle),Eric (Jess), Christopher, Kyler and Paige and great great grandchildren Julia, Ronnie,Ava, Joey and Ryan. Tillie is also survived by many nieces, nephews,cousins, God children and especially Bea and Paul Russo, Hilbourne Wells and all of her Chester Avenue neighbors. She was a special Babcia to Scott, Kristen and Kimberly Snow. She is also survived by her nephew Jeff Snow (Sue) who was very special to her.
Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 9:00 to 10:30 am Tuesday October 5, 2021 at Chadwick Memorial Home, 154 Webster St. Riverside, NJ 08075 and a 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Parish, Holy Name site, 260 Conrow Rd. Delran, NJ 08075. Interment will follow at William C Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd, North Hanover Township, NJ.08562
Because of floral restrictions at the cemetery, the family requests that masses and/or donations be offered to Resurrection Parish at the above address or donations be made in Tillies memory to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
