Obituary of Lawrence G. Curtis Jr.

Lawrence G. Curtis Jr., passed away peacefully on April 21, 2022, at the age of 90. Born in Jersey City, Larry was a resident of Cookstown, formerly of North Hanover. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a former member of American Legion Post 455, New Egypt. He was employed as a dock builder for many years by Union Local 1456, New York City. He was a member of the Hudson County Trail Riders Association and the American Quarter Horse Association. Beloved husband of the late Nancy E. (nee Clark). Devoted father of Bob Curtis (Teresa), Dawn Sofin (William) and Todd Curtis (Christina). Loving grandfather of Jennifer Mack (Derrick), Clark Curtis, Amy Horner (Bradley), Jerry Spirito, Maria Spirito, Rebecca Sofin, Aubrey Wood (Grant Jr.), and Shelby Curtis. Great grandfather of Connor, Colin, Mason, Brayden, Brody, McKayla, Charley, Austin, Kylie, Bennett, Grant III, and Kensley. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Chadwick Memorial Home, 154 Webster Street, Riverside, followed by his service at 6 pm. Interment at Brig. Gen. Wm C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P. O.
