Obituary of Richard S. Marter, Jr.

Richard passed away suddenly on Sunday, Sept.16, 2018, at Lourdes Med. Ctr., Willingboro. Age 67.

Rich was a resident of Riverside since 1970. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1969-1973. Rich (aka Mattress-Back) was employed by P.S.E.&G as a welder for SMD, retiring after 40+ years of service. He was a hard working, devoted family man, who always put his family first! When not at work, Rich could be found and HEARD at his sons and grand childrens sporting events or on the golf course.

Beloved husband of 48 years to Linda A. (nee Atkinson). Devoted father of Richard S. III (Jennifer), Christopher J. Marter and Nathan I. Marter (Jessica). Loving grandfather of Ema, Chervona, Erin, Jade, Richie IV, Nathan I. Jr. and Claire. Brother of Linda Gould, Susan Griffin (Andrew), Penny Stankiewicz (Paul), Ed Marter (Lea) and Doug Marter. Son of the late Richard S. Marter Sr. and the late Catherine Marter. Son in law of James Atkinson and the late Shirley Atkinson. Brother in law of Susan Pancoast.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing Friday evening from 6 pm - 8 pm and Saturday morning from 10 am -12 noon at the Chadwick Memorial Home, 154 Webster St., Riverside, NJ 08075. Funeral Service 12 noon.
